Dental Health Care, Can Novocaine kill off your taste buds?

Monday, Jun. 28th 2010 12:47 PM

Today I had three filling and a a crown.   The dentist had to give me a ton of Novocaine shoots to numb up my mouth.   So having the dental work did not hurt much because when I did feel any pain she would give me more Novocaine in that area.

The thing is it been three hours.  I am still somewhat numb and I can not seem to taste my food.  It is so weired.  I that normal?  I do not want to think that she gave me too much Novocaine and killed off my taste buds.

Well I guess anything is possible but I never heard of Novocaine doing that to any one before.

Your dentist may had to have use a lot if you needed it so give it some more time to ware off. If you still feel that way the next day call your dentist and see what they have to say about it.
