Dental Insurance Coverage, Wisdom teeth extractions fall under orthodontic coverage

Friday, Nov. 5th 2010 9:26 AM

The thing is I am getting adult braces put on.  My current dental insurance will only pay out $1500 max life time for the cost of my having braces.   The orthodontic dentist told me before putting on the braces I will need to have all my wisdom teeth pulled.

Will having the wisdom teeth pull then fall under orthodontic treatment or will it be a basic dental extraction not effecting my orthodontic limit?  I would like it not to be consider Orthodontic service since it would quick max out my limit.  How would I find this out?
