I am having a front tooth filled at this time, but need additional work done on another tooth. If I purchase your insurance, will this other tooth be covered? I will need a root canal, post, and crown.

When I lost my dental benefits from my job I never really cared at the time. So I did without and just paid cash for my check ups.

And in my opinion if you have perfect teeth that only needs the twice a year cleanings you probably can get by without having any dental benefits.

However I found out the hard way that if you needs any other dental care cost just goes so high that you wished you had dental insurance but then is too late. I had to pay cash for a root canal since insurance had a waiting period I would not be able to get the help I needed.

Luckily I did get a dental discount plan to help me with the cost but I write this because I would have been better off if I had dental insurance from the start.

If you can find a way to afford dental implants I would go that route. I had bridges before and it does not last forever and you may have to replace them just like with crowns.

Latter I was able to get implants and even though they were costly I love how they look. If given the choice to do things over I would have just gotten the implants from the start and saved me all the money I wasted on the bridge. But that is just my opinion.

A dental bridge is much like what you would think a bridge to be. you need valid teeth on each side of the gap in order to have a bridge put in.

They do have to put crowns on each of the healthy teeth where they have the missing teeth attached to the crowns. For this reason many people like to get implants so that they are not having to put crowns on healthy teeth.

With a dental discount plan you will get saving for implants to if there is a dentist that does that service you may want to shop out both options.

First in order to save some money for the cost of your dental care I would look into getting a dental discount plan. With a dental discount plan missing teeth prior to the plan effective date is not an issue. You will still receive the discount rates for all your dental services with any of the plan providers.

Second to answer you question about a bridge. What is it more or less is two crowns attached with fake teeth for the missing ones. The crowns are put one your good teeth on each side of the gap. In between are the fake teeth to fill in the gap. Bridges are not removable and and will look just like your other teeth.

I have and dealing with TMJ issues and believe me headache are just part of the side effects from TMJ. I am not saying this is what you have but it worth looking into.

I think your doctor is trying to help you and since they do not see any reason for why you have headaches he referring you to see a dentist so you can rule that in or out

No you are not being pushed off to someone else. Good for your doctor to suggest another way of trying to find out why you are having headaches.

You may feel you do not have any cavities but maybe you grind your teeth at night, Or have an incorrect bite issue going one these are reason why you could also have a headache.

I say you should see a dentist just because it been a while anyway but why not ask about the headache issue to your dentist and see what they may be able to advise.

I went on line looking for dental insurance and in the end decided to get a dental discount plan since after reviewing the two the dental discount plan option fit more of my current dental needs.

I hoping when most of my major dental care is done I will be able to afford getting a dental insurance plan for my family but until then the dental discount plans is working well.

Nail biting is very bad for the teeth and gums. For one, the constant pressure of biting over times wears away the enamel and can cause tooth chips and fractures. Second, your mouth and body ingest millions of bacteria and pathogens that can cause infection. Nail biters often experience gingivitis of the gums which causes pockets between the teeth and gums, abscesses, and loosening and possible loss of teeth. I’m speaking from experience as a midde aged adult and life-long nail biter.

Well I would say to get a dental HMO if you want dental insurance plan and you want it to be affordable. I have California Dental plan 595 and it is only $18.95 a month for a single member. I like the dentist that I picked within the plan and the plan paid for itself the first time I use it.

What is the best dental plan depends on your own dental needs and what you may want in the plan. In California we have over 35 dental plans options for you to review.

If cost is a factor then you may want to review the dental discount plans or the dental HMO plans since they are the lower cost dental plan options.

However if you want to stay with a current dental office or have the free choice to pick any dentist then you want to review the plans that have that option such as the Dental PPO’s or Indemnity plans

There is more but the main thing is to read the plans terms and conditions know how it work and what if offers so you can choose the best plan for yourself.
