Brown stained teeth, Past smoker need dental help

Wednesday, Oct. 13th 2010 8:37 PM

I was a smoker.  I really do not smoke now but I am left with brown stained up teeth.  I tried whitening strips but they did not really work well for me.   I would like to have my teeth whiten but a dentist but I hear that can cost up to $150.00 or more since my dental insurance will not cover for whitening treatment.   Where can I go or what can I do to make my teeth look better.?

Only a whiten treatment by a dentist will really get your teeth the whitest. Now yes it can be cost all at once at $150.00 but try and see if the dental office will offer you a payment plan.

If you been seeing the same dentist for a while with your dental insurance then it may be more likely that they would offer a payment plan for any extras that your plan does not cover.

Also you can just save some money each paycheck until you can afford to get your teeth whiten at your dental office. You can also get a dental discount plan to help you reduce the cost of having whitening treatment.

What I did was use Chrest Whitening strips. Like you I did not see a really big difference the first time. Since it not good to use it back to back I then just started brushing my teeth with whitening toothpaste for a month and use Chrest Whitening strips again and my teeth look really great.

I will not use any toothpaste that does not have whitening so that I keep the stains from coming back.

I would get a dental discount plan, have the saving it will provide to for the whiten treatment and get it done by a dentist.

Then do not stain your teeth back up by drinking coffee or tea without a straw. brush your teeth after having food that can stain you teeth. And use whitening toothpaste to prevent new staining.

I brush my teeth with baking soda one day a week and it really help whiten my teeth and keep them white. No need to spend a lot of money for whiter teeth. It will not happen overnight though so give it some time to notice any difference.

I had my teeth whiten at the mall. Really all they did was zoom whiten your teeth it takes about 10 to 15 minutes and it only cost me $75.00 half the price you are being quoted. See if you have anything thing like that near you.
