New Hampshire Dental Insurance Coverages, Dental care Root canal needed.

01/25/11

New Hampshire Dental Insurance Coverages, Dental care Root canal needed:   I went to the dentist the other day since a back tooth of my was really hurting me.  I was told that I needed to have a root canal done and I am kinda freaking out about this news.

I do not want to have a root canal done but the dentist told me it is the only way to save the tooth and to stop it from hurting all the time.  I know he is telling me the truth I been with him for a few years now.  I been paying cash and he told me that I should think about getting dental insurance.

My dentist told me I would need to have the root canal done by a  specialist which can be costly. I do not have dental insurance and not sure if it is too late to get some now.   Where can I go for a low cost root canal?  Hurting and do not know how to pay for the dental care I current need to have.

Dental Benefits, Understanding what a root canal is

08/15/10

What Is A Root Canal – Here Is An Easy Explanation

Root canals are a part of dentistry called endodontics, which is concerned with the pathology of dental pulp and the area surrounding the root.  The root canals travel from the tip of the tooth’s root into the pulp chamber, which also contains blood vessels and connective tissue that nourish the tooth.  The percentage of success in root canals is in the high nineties, so when you have a root cancel on your tooth, you can be pretty sure that this root canal is going to work.

If your root canal is performed by an endodontist; a dentist that specializes in root canals, he will place a temporary restoration and send you back to your general dentist for the restoration.  Very small instruments are used to clean the pulp from the pulp chamber and root canals and to shape the space for filling.  The topic, root canals and the problem with bacteria that get trapped inside the microtubules of the tooth, of an infected tooth, can migrate throughout the body, they can infect an organ, gland or tissue, they can damage the heart, kidneys, joints, eyes, brain.

The tooth’s nerve lies within root canals, which lie within the roots or “legs” of the tooth.  The root canals travel from the tip of the tooth’s root into the pulp chamber, which also contains blood vessels and connective tissue that nourish the tooth.  The idea that root canals pose a risk to general health comes from research suggesting that bacteria and viruses left behind at the tip of the root canal might persist and multiply in the space around the tooth.

It is a good idea to have dental insurance in place prior to having a root canal done.   Since root canal are normally costly.  If  a crown is needed  you would then have the added expense of the crown.

Dental Insurance Coverages, Getting two root canals and crowns done

07/25/10

My mom needs to have two root canals and two crowns done.  She does not have good dental insurance and can not afford to have this dental work done.  She was quoted $2137.00 and that is with her insurance.

Please advise what she can do to have this dental work done at a much lower rate.  I am willing to help her with the cost but even I do not have 2137.00 laying around.  She needs to have this dental work done ASAP since she is in some pain over this.

Dental Insurance Benefits, Lost my crown then broke my tooth.

06/17/10

I had a root canal done three years ago.  Around two month the crown they put on that tooth came off.  I made an dental appointment for them to put the crown back on but something came up and I did not make the appoint and had to put it off.

My problem is that I think I cracked my tooth when I was eating and now I scared that the dentist may need to pull it or something.  Can the dentist just put the crown back on?  I have dental insurance but if I have to get a new crown then it would be better for me to wait for two more months when my policy term rolls over and I get the full 1500.00 max.  Can I wait that long

Advise plaase not sure what to do.
