4) Never try to adjust your dentures yourself. This might cause harm to your mouth or damage to your dentures.
5) See your dentist as often as advised in order to maintain your dentures as well as your oral health care.

Make sure to clean your dentures every day. Oral health care habits does not stop just because you have dentures. Cleaning your dentures daily with denture brush and soaking them in cleanser solution will help keep your dentures looking white and bright while at the same time prevent plaque build up and denture odor.

Brushing your teeth helps to remove bacteria that builds up on your teeth each day and contributes to tooth decay.   Though tooth decay may occur in any area of the tooth as you age decay is more likely to develop around old filling or in softer root of the tooth that may be exposed due to receding gums.  Therefore you want to maintain having regular dental visit so that he or she can keep an eye on these vulnerable area

When it comes down to which is better electric or manual toothbrushes it really just an individual preference. A person who brushes well with a manual will do as well as a person who brushes well with an electric toothbrush. You will want to choose one that you like best as that then you will be more likely to use it correctly.

The American Dental Association recommends a soft-bristled toothbrush. Bristles that are too stiff can aggravate your gums. You will want the bristles to be sturdy enough to remove plaque but not too hard to damage to your teeth and gums.

Toothbrush When shopping for a toothbrush consider the size of your mouth. You do not want to get a toothbrush that is too big for your mouth. You also will want the toothbrush to have a comfortable handle. A toothbrush should feel as comfortable as holding a fork when eating. The better the toothbrush fits in your hand and mouth the more likely you will use it correctly.

Question: I been putting of getting braces since I move often. In the past three years I have moved over five time in three different cities. I do not think things will really slow down for me and just wondering if orthodontic treatment is possible.

Answer:  It can be hard if you are wanting to have a dental insurance plan to help cover the cost of braces. Since depending on where you are moving can effect whether or not the insurance will be able to provide benefits to another provider.  If you are paying for braces out of pocket you should be able to find a orthodontic dentist that can take up where the last one stop since records can be forwarded to the new provider.  However cost then would very depending on each dental office.

Question:  I just went to the dentist the other day and was told that I have a  cavity on my front tooth, and that if I do not get a filling it will turn into a bigger issue. However I do not see this cavity that he says I have nor is that tooth hurting me at all due to any decay.  Is it really necessary for an invisible cavity to be filled? 

Answer:  First having trust with your dentist is important therefore if you do not believe that your dentist is being honest with you about having a cavity think about getting a second opinion from a different dental office.  However often times small cavities do not cause dental pain until they become larger issues.  Just because you can not see it does not mean you do not have one. Ask the dentist to show it to you either by the X-rays that or have him point it out to you using a mirror.
