Dental Insurance Plans for Families that offer Immediate Coverage’s.

Question: My family and I live in California and I am looking for a dental insurance that offer Immediate coverage’s. I do not care if it cost more since I can afford a higher cost plan. I do not want to have to wait out long term waiting periods before my kids can even start to have any needed dental care.

Reply: On our website dentalbenefit.com in California we have a few dental insurance plan options that do not have waiting periods. You can review our HMO insurance plan options that do have a lower month cost ranging from $16.00 – $40.00 a month for a family and all our HMO plans have no waiting periods.

However if you prefer a PPO insurance plan without waiting periods we also have two plan PPO options that does not have waiting peoiods ranging from $155.00 – $200.00 and up (depending on your zip code) for a family plan. As you can see PPO plans are more costly and ones that do not have waiting periods are also higher in cost. They do let you stay with your own dental provider office if that is a factor for you.

You can review all our dental insurance plan options by entering in your zip code in the quote box provided. If you have any questions about our dental insurance plan options please call our member service line at 310-534-3444 M-F 8am-4pm

Dental Benefit – California and Dental Insurance

Thursday, Dec. 10th 2020 10:36 AM

California dental care and buying the best dental plan.

Question: I am 19 and more or less on my own now. I am working a full time job that only offer major medical benefits and I work a part time job that does not offer any benefits. I would like to get dental insurance for myself but now sure how to know I am buying the best dental plan for my needs. I have not see a dentist before that I can recall but I take really good care of my teeth and do not feel I need any major dental work. What dental plan should I be looking at?

Reply: What is the best dental plan depends on your own dental needs and what you may want in the plan. In California we have over 35 dental plans options for you to review.

If cost is a factor then you may want to review the dental discount plans or the dental HMO plans since they are the lower cost dental plan options.

However if you want to stay with a current dental office or have the free choice to pick any dentist then you want to review the plans that have that option such as the Dental PPO’s or Indemnity plans

There is more but the main thing is to read the plans terms and conditions know how it work and what if offers so you can choose the best plan for yourself.

Dental Benefit – Periodontal Disease and Your Health

Saturday, Nov. 21st 2020 9:20 AM

Periodontal disease is a common condition that ranges from simple gum inflammation to a serious disease causing major damage to the soft tissue and bone that support the teeth, and loss of teeth. Periodontal disease has also been linked with heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, as well as oral, esophageal, head and neck, pancreatic and lung cancers. Previous studies have suggested that chronic inflammation could provide the link. Risk factors for periodontal disease include genetic predisposition, smoking and hormonal changes in girls and women, which can make gums more sensitive so that it is easier for gingivitis to develop. People with reduced ability to fight infection due to diseases such as diabetes or treatment for cancer are also prone. Medications that limit the flow of saliva can also leave the mouth vulnerable to infections.

Dental Benefit – Root Canal Therapy

Wednesday, Nov. 18th 2020 9:17 AM

For some people they question whether or not the really need a root canal when they do not have any pain. However it is important to know that many teeth that need root canal therapy will not cause pain. But that does not mean the tooth is okay. Your dentist and or endodontist specialist have ways to see if the tooth’s pulp is damaged or infected. If it is, then you will need root canal treatment, even if the tooth does not hurt.

Therefore if you see something near a damaged tooth that looks like a pimple, see your dentist. The “pimple,” called a fistula, is a tunnel of tissue draining pus from an infection. There is no pain because the fistula keeps pressure from building in the tissue. It can come and go. The infection must be treated, and the tooth probably needs root canal treatment. Without treatment, nearby tissues will become infected.

Dental Benefit – Baby Dental Care

Friday, Nov. 13th 2020 9:02 AM

Did you know that you should be cleaning your child’s mouth even before their teeth come in?

For good oral health you want to wipe the gums off after each feeding with a warm, wet washcloth or a dampened piece of gauze wrapped around your finger. You can also buy thimble-like, soft rubbery devices (they fit over your index finger) to use for rubbing off excess food. Doing this will not only keep your child mouth clean but it will also make your baby become accustom to you doing this and then brushing teeth later on becomes easier.

Dental Benefit – Gingivitis

Friday, Nov. 6th 2020 8:57 AM

How do I know if I have gingivitis?

Gingivitis an inflammation of the gums and is the initial stage of gum disease. Some of the symptoms may include red or swollen and tender gums that may bleed when you brush.

In order to prevent Gingivitis you would brush at least twice a day and floss daily. Now however it is very important to clean off all plaque that is on your teeth and under your gums. A dentist can do that by doing a deep cleaning. If Gingivitis goes untreated for too long you can start to have bone loss which can lead to teeth loss.

Therefore if you think you may have gingivitis or asking yourself if you do or not. Then it is time to see a dentist to confirm and treat if necessary
