What is the difference between Delta dental DD54 and DD55?

Question: I am on your website reviewing the different dental plans. I like to get an HMO due to cost factors and I notice you have Delta Dental which I know I like Delta Dental since I had them in the past many years ago. Can you explain to me the difference between the DD54 and the DD55 plans. They both look good and there is not much difference in prices.

Reply: Both the DD54 and DD55 are Delta dental HMO plans that are available in California. There is not much difference between the two. What you would want to compare, is the cost of the plans which is a minor difference and the fee schedule for dental care services listed.

You well note that the DD55 fee schedule is a little higher in your cost for dental services render then the DD54. So even though the DD54 HMO insurance plan may cost a little more it offer slightly better cover cost to you for dental services render.

Also there may be different dentist that take each plan so dental offices may be a buying factor for you as well, as you need to choose a plan provider
