Dental Benefit Health Care, Fiances Filing Fell Out Need Dental Help

Tuesday, Mar. 12th 2024 2:09 PM

My fiances filling fell out yesterday. I tried calling his dentist for a dental appointment, but the dentist he goes to now is only open during my fiance’s work hours. My fiances will not ask for a day off from work to get his tooth fixed. He says he can not afford to ask for days off when he got the job two months ago. I understand, but it is not suitable not to have fixed it right away. How long can he wait to fix his filling? Any advice on getting him to go?

Reply: Understandably, your fiance may not want to take a day off from work, especially if he just started his job. However, he needs to prioritize his dental health. Waiting too long to fix a filling can lead to further damage to the tooth and even more expensive dental procedures in the future.

One option could be to look for a dentist with more flexible hours that would work better for your fiance’s schedule. Another option could be to ask his employer if he can take a couple of hours off to attend a dental appointment. Many employers understand the importance of dental health and may be willing to work with their employees to ensure they receive the care they need.

In terms of getting him to go, explaining the potential consequences of waiting too long to fix the filling could be helpful. You could also offer to go with him for support and reassurance. Encouraging him to prioritize his health and well-being is essential, and it’s great that you’re looking out for him.
