Delta Dental HMO in California

Tuesday, Jan. 14th 2020 6:08 AM

What is the difference between Delta dental DD54 and DD55?

Question: I am on your website reviewing the different dental plans. I like to get an HMO due to cost factors and I notice you have Delta Dental which I know I like Delta Dental since I had them in the past many years ago. Can you explain to me the difference between the DD54 and the DD55 plans. They both look good and there is not much difference in prices.

Reply: Both the DD54 and DD55 are Delta dental HMO plans that are available in California. There is not much difference between the two. What you would want to compare, is the cost of the plans which is a minor difference and the fee schedule for dental care services listed.

You well note that the DD55 fee schedule is a little higher in your cost for dental services render then the DD54. So even though the DD54 HMO insurance plan may cost a little more it offer slightly better cover cost to you for dental services render.

Also there may be different dentist that take each plan so dental offices may be a buying factor for you as well, as you need to choose a plan provider

Dental Benefit, Individual Delta Dental HMO Dental Insurance

Tuesday, Feb. 16th 2016 6:29 AM

Question: I was looking at the Delta Dental HMO plan in Texas. I was wanting to know how it works.  Besides picking a dentist in the net work which I know is a requirement. What other things should I know about getting an HMO dental plan?

Do I have to pay in full and wait for a refund?  I would like to know since that was how my last plan I had though work was like. I really did not like having to pay the dentist in  full and then wait a month for my money back.  It was good coverages but I did not always have the money at the time I needed dental work.

Reply: No, that is the great thing about dental HMO’s you are only paying the dentist the agree coverages amount for your dental services. Therefore there is no claims forms for you to fill out. And you are not left waiting for any refunds from the insurance company.

Dental Insurance help, Pacificare dental HMO 160vs Delta Dental HMO DD54

Wednesday, Nov. 17th 2010 7:17 AM

I need to get dental insurance and I can only really afford HMO plans.  I am find with that since picking a dentist in the network for me is the same as picking one out of a phone book.  I really do not care.

I have not been to the dentist in over a year and that is my real issues.  Between the Pacificare 160 and the Delta Dental DD54 which plan is better?  I have heard of Delta Dental I use to have them way back when.  I never heard of Pacificare  though.  Should I stick with what I know?  Just not sure
